Eating Disorder Recovery Yoga

When: Four consecutive Thursday nights starting on 7/17/2025

Where: online on zoom, offered through the Center for Eating Disorders in Ann Arbor

Eating Disorder Recovery Yoga is for people who are currently recovering from an eating disorder or have body image issues. There are numerous studies that show the beneficial effects of practicing yoga during recovery. Research has shown that yoga can be a promising adjunct intervention for a variety of mental disorders, and is effective in decreasing risk factors, and increasing protective factors, for eating disorders. You will be guided through four themed classes that are geared to help you support yourself in finding a way to exist in your body that feels comfortable to you. The classes feature gentle movement to practice embodiment, positive self-awareness and a felt sense from within, to support you in your efforts of the recovery process. We will use yoga poses (asanas) and guided breathing to cultivate a compassionate and more attuned connection to physical and mental processes in an accepting, authentic, intuitive and non-judgmental way.

All body types and sizes, genders, and ages (over 18) are welcome. No previous yoga experience is needed. The sessions are private and confidential, with optional levels of interaction. Email me to sign up.

Suggested donation: $10-20/ class
