Meret Flessenkamper (she / her)
MA Psychology, Mindful Movement Specialist, Licensed Yoga Teacher (RYT-200)

I received my master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. Because I emigrated to the US from Switzerland in 2021, I am currently in the process of getting my license as a psychotherapist in Michigan. On top of being a registered yoga and meditation teacher (RYT-200), I am finishing up my Intuitive Eating Counselor certification. I am also a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders.
Meret Yoga offerings are designed to welcome and accommodate bodies of all sizes and abilities – they are intended to facilitate attunement to the individual’s somatic experience, developing an instrinsic, natural guide to movement and exercise. Mindful movement seeks to explore the body as it is, with breathing and other interventions that strengthen awareness of bodily sensations, and emotions. This type of mindful, gentle movement is integral to the process of body awareness. The intention of mindful movement is to apply common sense, evidence-based tools and somatic awareness to help people discover a type of movement that is enjoyable and sustainable. Ultimately I want to help people find a type of movement THEY can enjoy.
I approach my clients with a non-judgmental attitude and curiosity. Taking a resource-oriented stance, I aim to help my clients see the potential that is inherently present in them. My focus is on providing a caring and kind space in which clients can befriend their body and heal their relationship with movement. I am a proponent of Health at Every Size and reject diet culture as well as the endless self-improvement trends on social media.
Please note: I am not a licensed psychotherapist, if you need assistance for mental or physical conditions, consult your physician or psychotherapist.
