Meret Flessenkamper
(she / her)
MA Psychology, RYT-200, CIEC

I received my master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. Because I emigrated to the US from Switzerland in 2021, I am currently in the process of getting my license as a psychotherapist in Michigan. For this purpose, I am currently getting a second master’s degree in humanistic Psychology at the Michigan School of Psychology. On top of being a registered yoga and meditation teacher (RYT-200), I am an Intuitive Eating Counselor (CIEC). I am also a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders. At the moment I teach Hatha Yoga at a studio called Zion Well, and I work as a movement specialist at the Center for Eating Disorders – both located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
I approach my clients with curiosity and a non-judgmental attitude. Taking a resource-oriented stance, I aim to help my clients see the potential that is inherently present in them. My focus is on providing a caring and kind space in which clients can befriend their body and heal their relationship with movement. I am a proponent of Health at Every Size and reject diet culture as well as the endless self-improvement trends on social media.
Please note: I am not (yet) a licensed psychotherapist, if you need assistance for mental or physical conditions, consult your physician or psychotherapist.

Meret Yoga
Meret Yoga offerings are designed to welcome and accommodate bodies of all sizes and abilities – they are intended to facilitate attunement to the individual’s somatic experience, developing an intrinsic, natural guide to movement and exercise. Mindful movement seeks to explore the body as it is, with breathing and other interventions that strengthen awareness of bodily sensations, and emotions. This type of mindful, gentle movement is integral to the process of body awareness. The intention of mindful movement is to apply common sense, evidence-based tools and somatic awareness to help people discover a type of movement that is enjoyable and sustainable. Ultimately I want to help people find a type of movement THEY can enjoy.
Discover a better relationship to your body, mind and soul
We all have the inherent potential to flourish and thrive rather than just surviving and making it through the day. I am honored to guide you through this process of empowerment, self-discovery and flexibility.
